# Configuring Verification and Compliance Checks for individuals

## Summary

This article details how to configure the specific verification of identity (VOI), KYC, and screening checks on a client's card before sending the onboarding request.

## When to Use This

Use this after creating an order for an individual, when you need to specify which checks and documents are required from the client, such as remote or in-person verification and AML screening.

## Step-by-Step Instructions

Before starting, resolve any conflicting data between integrated systems. If a notification box appears on the bottom-left, click **Review changes** and **Update all** to synchronize the platforms.

1. On the individual client card, review the **Verification of Identity** section.
2. Choose the level of identification required (e.g., Single Document).
3. Select the method of delivery for the verification from the drop-down menu. Options include Remote (liveness check, video recording, video call, no video) or In person (on a mobile device or this computer).
4. Select the client's capacity or role (e.g., Individual, Secretary, Director, Power of Attorney, Executor, Beneficiary).
5. Ensure the **KYC onboarding form** is checked to send a questionnaire to the client.
6. Ensure the **PEPs, Sanctions and Adverse media** screening check is enabled. You can tailor the scope of this search to **Precise**, **Near**, or **Broad**.
7. Select any additional services if required, such as Source of Funds and Wealth Check, Client Authorisation form, or state-specific purchaser declarations. Click **Edit details** next to any declaration forms that require manual input or review prior to ordering.
8. Click **Continue** to proceed to sending the request.

## Common Questions

* **What is the difference between remote and in-person verification?** Remote allows the client to complete verification on their own device, while in-person is useful for clients without a smartphone or who prefer to visit your office.
* **What does the PEPs, Sanctions and Adverse media check do?** It screens the client against watchlists and search engines to identify any political exposure, sanctions, or negative media presence.

## Troubleshooting Tips

**Client unable to complete remote VOI:** If the client is not technologically savvy, change the delivery method to an in-person workflow so they can complete the verification at your office.

# Additional Order Details

* **Continuous Monitoring:** When enabling the PEPs, Sanctions and Adverse media check, you can opt-in to continuous monitoring.
* **Client Authorization Form:** When selecting this service, set the **CAF authority type** (e.g., Standing authority) and select the applicable **Conveyancing transaction** categories (such as Transfer, Mortgage, Caveat).

## Finalising the Order

1. After clicking **Continue**, the **Confirm details** window appears. Review the auto-populated mobile number, firm name, and address, input your **Capacity** (e.g., Licensed conveyancer, Australian legal practitioner), and fill in the required **Property details** (including property address and land title reference).
2. Confirm the client's address under **Client details**. Next, expand the **Add instructions** option, select the recipients, and draft a personalised message guiding the client. Finally, click **Confirm** to submit the order. A green toast message will appear confirming that the order has been created successfully and the client has been sent a link to complete their requirements.
