# User roles and Viewing permissions

## Summary

The Compliance Centre displays different information depending on the user's role within the firm. This ensures that sensitive administrative functions are restricted to appropriate personnel while providing necessary visibility to staff.

## Legend

| Symbol | Meaning |

| **Own only** | Access restricted to records assigned to the user (e.g., their own training, their own transactions) |

## Role Descriptions

* **Compliance Officer:** Has full visibility and administrative access across all modules. Responsible for firm-wide compliance management.
* **Governing Body:** Broad read access across the platform with write access to Training and Staff Onboarding. Can oversee compliance status, audit trails, and staff records.
* **Senior Manager:** Read access to most modules. Write access to Training only. No access to Staff Onboarding.
* **Client-Facing Staff:** Limited read access. Full Read/Write access to Training only. No access to Staff Onboarding.

## Onboarding Rules

The ability to onboard users into the Compliance Centre is role-dependent. The following rules apply:

* **Governing Body (GB)** → Can onboard the **Compliance Officer (CO)** only.
* **Compliance Officer (CO)** → Can onboard **Governing Body (GB)**, **Senior Manager (SM)** and **Client Facing** **Staff**.
* **Compliance Officer (CO)** → **Cannot** onboard another Compliance Officer.
* **Combined role (CO + GB or CO + SM)** → The CO permissions take precedence, and the user **is permitted** to onboard others as a CO would.

This structure ensures that compliance oversight responsibilities are appropriately assigned and that administrative access is granted only through authorised channels.
