Manually Completing Verification of Identity (VOI)
Introduction
When you already possess a completed verification of identity (VOI) document for a client, you can manually upload it to satisfy the verification requirement on the portal. This allows you to mark the task as complete immediately without ordering a new digital verification service.
Steps
- Locate the relevant client in your onboarding list.
- In the AML/CTF: Client Due Diligence section, find the Verification of identity option.
- Click the three vertical dots icon on the right side of the verification row and select Upload documents.
- In the Manually complete VOI modal that appears, drag and drop your file or click document or browse files to upload the PDF or DOCX file.
- (Optional) Enter any relevant information in the Notes text field.
- Click the Accept button to complete the upload and update the task status.
Summary
Manually uploading an existing VOI document is a quick way to record compliance evidence within the system. Once uploaded, the task is marked as complete, allowing you to proceed with other onboarding requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does manually uploading a VOI cost the same as ordering one digitally? Yes. The fee applies to recording and validating the compliance evidence within the Compliance Centre, not just the identity check itself, so it's charged whether the VOI is completed digitally through the platform or uploaded manually from a document you already hold.
